D’Israeli
D’Israeli (real name Matt Brooker), has been steadily working in the comics field, as a penciller, inker, and colorist since 1988.
In the beginning of his career, he participated in the renowned anthology, DEADLINE, initially with the a strip named TIMULO and later on with FATAL CHARM. He also co-created -with Warren Ellis- famous character LAZARUS CHURCHYARD, for BLAST! magazine.
At about the same time, he did a couple of issues of MISTER X for Canadian publisher Vortex, and later on he took over as a colorist on Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham’s MIRACLEMAN. He worked as an inker on various issues of SANDMAN and also participated in many of Paradox Press’ BIG BOOK anthologies.
He inked over Philip Bond’s pencils on the Grant Morrison written Vertigo graphic novel KILL YOUR BOYFRIEND, and collaborated with writer Ian Edginton on a Batman tale. He also worked on the series KINGDOM OF THE WICKED and SCARLET TRACES, as well as an adaptation of WAR OF THE WORLDS for Dark Horse.
In recent years, he created many new series for 2000AD and JUDGE DREDD MEGAZINE, among them being LEVIATHAN and STICKLEBACK (with Ian Edginton), and XTNCT with Paul Cornell, while he has also worked on other established series, like LOW LIFE, THE VORT, FUTURE SHOCKS and JUDGE DREDD. In 2007, he won the Eagle Award for favorite inker.
Two years ago, he colored Mark Buckingham’s cover for the official Comicdom Con Athens 2008 convention program.
