Third year and on everyone’s mind, diversity was the true star of the event, with the presence of 6 international creators (with the invaluable help of the participating stores and publishing houses), covering different aspects of comics art. Ranging from the veteran co-creator of V FOR VENDETTA, David Lloyd, to FABLES artist, Mark Buckingham, as well as Bryan Talbot (ADVENTURES OF LUTHER ARKWRIGHT, Ethan Van Sciver (GREEN LANTERN: REBIRTH), Aleksandar Zograf (REGARDS FROM SERBIA) and Guneri Icoglu (MAN OF THE HEART), this year’s event established our tagline once again: Celebrate Comic Book Diversity!
Meanwhile, the exhibition hall was brightened by the genius of Will Eisner, where the Greek audience had the opportunity to meet this true comis giant, by viewing 50 original works! And all that, while in the Foyer next to the Theatre, the fanzine creators held their own party, with Comicdom Con Athens becoming a place to meet, create, communicate and debut their newest works!
Close to 5000 visitors came to Comicdom Con Athens 2008 and judging by the fact that on the second day, despite the heavy rain falling outside, the halls of the Hellenic-American Union building were full of people, it is pretty obvious that this was definitely our most successful show!
