Born in 1967 in New Zealand and presently living in Great Britain. His first published word was in JUDGE DREDD MEGAZINE, with “Straitjacket Fits”, a surreal strip whose heroes live in an asylum and after realizing they are the stars of a comic story, they break the 4th wall.
His character Fred the Clown was inspired by the great comedian Buster Keaton, and after attracting a strong following as a webcomic, was also self-published in print books, garnering Eisner, Harvey, Reuben and Ignatz award nominations. Langridge also worked on the Eisner Award-winning series SNARKED!, on THOR: THE MIGHTY AVENGER (with art by Chris Samnee), FIN FANG FOUR, with Scott Gray, on the first issue of MARVEL MONSTERS, as well as the ongoing series DOCTOR WHO, MANDRAKE THE MAGICIAN, JOHN CARTER OF MARS and ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE.
In the last decade, he was the writer under whose guidance popular properties such as THE MUPPET SHOW (Boom! Studios, 2009), POPEYE (IDW Publishing, 2012-2013) and BETTY BOOP (Dynamite Entertainment, 2017) were revived and re-introduced to a new audience.
His most recent works are the all-ages books THE BAKER STREET PECULIARS (with art by Andy Hirsch) and ABIGAIL AND THE SNOWMAN, both for Boom! Studios, as well as the return of Fred The Clown, in FRED THE CLOWN IN THE IRON DUCHESS for Fantagraphics Books. He is currently drawing the graphic novel CRIMINY, written by Ryan Ferrier, for Dark Horse Comics.
